Properly Wiring Connection Way
It’s important to ensure a proper wiring connection way to the parts that will be mounted on your products to perform function. Check the parts with your suppliers or manufacturers before designing a wiring to it. Thus you will save a lot of time to select connectors or terminals for wiring and know how to power the part to perform its function.
Also determine the parts power current type- AC or DC. This will help you to choose the right wire or cable type with rated voltage & current to power it.
Consult manufacturer recommendations or work with your local supplier to determine the best match of wiring connection way and wiring parts specification requirement when designing a wiring harness at first stage. Please check the following basic type for connectors and cable /wire type when designing a wiring.
Connector type based on connection way: Wire to wire connector, Wire to Board connectors, Board in connectors
Wire or Cable type: Solid type and Stranded wires; Cable with braided wire or shield with aluminum foil for better signal transit.
Match to the working conditions

Water-proof connectors will have wire seals to crimped with terminals or contacts before insert into the housing. Please maker sure the seal matching the wire or cable gauge you choose that will effect the water-proof function. Some water-proof connectors has extra O-ring for tight connection.
While Overmolded solution is the best way to combine the wire or cable with connectors to get better water proof function, the moulds for overmolded solution will be a bigger cost if you have a small quantity demand.
Consider Advanced Features
Wiring or cable harness consist of wire or cables, connectors with terminals or contacts etc. basic parts. Please also consider the protection for the wires for longer time. You will need the wiring loom or tube, tape and ties for bundle wires to protection.
